Use floral prints sparingly.
Using floral designs and patterns add a distinct touch of nature and the outdoors to a room, but don't overdo it. Too much and too many floral prints will tend to overwhelm the space. Use the pattern wisely and err on the side of too little, rather than too much
Choose patterns the same way you’d pick flowers. Floral designs add more than a touch of color to your walls and floors. Use your favourite floral patterns to accent the colors already in your home--on pillows, furniture, walls and floors. Use them to balance and enhance the original pieces and fabrics in your home.

Scale your floral patterns. By using several different scales or sizes of floral designs -- both large and small – you’re sure to add visual interest to your room. The contrast in sizes, tied together by complementary colours, will help give a room a distinctive, but still harmonious look.     Florals don’t have to look like flowers! If you’re interested in using floral patterns around the home, don’t think that the patterns you choose have to look exactly like “real” flowers. Modern designs and abstract, but still “floral” looks work just as well on everything from furniture coverings to curtains to wallpaper.
