Cup is more than just a horse race - it is a 145-year old social and cultural
tradition that 'stops the nation'.
As Australia's premier sporting and social event, the Spring
Racing Carnival is one which Feltex sees as ideal in reaching it's many,
and varied target markets. For this reason, Feltex has chosen
to continue its sponsorship of the Carnival in 2006.
Over the four exciting days of racing, Feltex engages
in a number consumer and trade related activities. From sponsorship
of a race on Cup Day to hosting a marquee in the acclaimed Birdcage, this
years event was again one to be part of.

The race draws competitors from all over the world with
the annual invasion of northern hemisphere-trained stayers making it a
truly international event. The Emirates Melbourne Cup now attracts
a worldwide television audience of around 700 million people in 120 countries
and territories while millions more either view or listen to the event
via the internet.
The carnival came to an spectacular close by smashing the
previous attendance record by over 30,000 with a new 4-day record of 418,069.
